FIRST WEEKEND

Hello, I am Clara and I'm going to tell you what we have done this weekend here, in Washington. On Saturday, in the morning, we went to the Family Fun Day at Bishop McNamara High School. There was a kind of street market and  people were playing instruments, girls dancing...there was a lot of life .After lunch, we watched  an american football match, but when it was ending, everybody began to run because a small tornado was arriving, and we had to protect ourselves inside the school until it had passed, so we couldn't see the end of the match. At night I went with Terra's friends to a "getting on", which is like a small party in a house, where friends talk, listen to music  or watch tv.
On Sunday, in the morning, I woke up very early, because we went to  the church at 7 o' clock. Here the churches aren't like in Spain, they are huge with a lot of halls, and they spend a big part of the mass singing gospel. In the afternoon, everybody, Basque and American,  met in a house to do a picnic. We left desserts and more things for lunch, and we did a little dinner. Then, we went out and the girls stayed sitting,  taking pictures and talking. At night, we took the car and we went to their house, and stopped on the way to buy something to drink .

Hi, every body!! How are you all doing, I am very good. This exchange program is amazing!  If you are reading this email and can go in the future everything, really go!  Okay today is Saturday and I am going to describe what I have done today. Like I said, it is Saturday and I started the morning a little unusual because I woke up at 8:00am in the morning and I didn't know what to do.  So, I was a little nervous but at 9:00am appeared my exchange mom, Linda, to tell me that it was time to wake up. I went to my own bathroom and took a shower. Then, I went to the main floor and ate breakfast--an omlette and chocolate milk.  After breakfast, we were ready to go to Bishop McNamara.  Parents and students were celebrating and there were lots of things displayed.  After, we ate hot dogs with cold water and chips and went to see the American football match on the bleachers. At three thirty, we went to meet London and Linda (Gabi's sister and mother), talked in the car, and went home to eat something.  While we were eating, it start to rain so hard like a big storm with tornado warnings.  At five, we went to church because Gabi had to read in the church. I was nervous because I didn't understand anything and everybody was singing and answering the priest. I was a little bit ashamed. When church finished, we went home. We watched a movie and while we were seeing the film, we had dinner.  It was a little of salad and pasta and a strange thing to drink of lemon.  When we had finished I asked if they had a dictionary to do this homework. Now, I am doing the homework and will go to sleep soon.  I will continue writing tomorrow. It is an honor for me to tell you what happened this Saturday. From here in Washington, bye everybody!!!  Much love and kisses for my parents and brother, sorry I miss them jaja.

On Saturday I went  to a school party and watched  American Football and in the afternoon I went  to the shopping mall; the shops are bigger than Iruna shops.
Today Sunday , I went  to Sergio and Julen's house to do a picnic, everyone brought  food  and they made  a bonfire.

This weekend has been amazing. On Saturday morning, we went to the school, because it was the family fun day. The students spent the day with their family. I had so much fun because we played a lot of games and watched some dancers.  After lunch, there was a football match. For me, that was the best part of the day because I enjoyed watching cheerleaders dancing and making stunts. Just when the football match finished, the weather started turning really bad. It started raining so heavily, that we had to go inside the school and stay there for a while. After that we went to get our nails done. It was the first time that I was doing my nails, so I had a very cool experience. The next day, I went to the grocery store to buy some food in the morning. In the afternoon, I went to a barbeque with all the Spanish and American students. We had a great time, eating and taking pictures. Later, I went to visit my hoster’s family. I met her grandparents, aunt and uncle. They were all so nice with me. I enjoyed so much playing with her little cousin. And that was all we did during the weekend.
